VISHAKAPATNAM: A drunk man allegedly attempted to rape a woman on a footpath in broad daylight at Vizag city in Andhra Pradesh . The victim, a beggar, is believed to be mentally challenged . She was sleeping on the street when the accused forced her near the railway station on Srinivasa Kalyanamandapam Road.The woman has been admitted to a city hospital where she is being treated.The town police were reportedly informed about the incident by an auto driver Argi Sreenu who also shot the video. It was on his complaint that the accused has been arrested.The auto driver handed over the video to the police. The video clearly shows the man forcing himself on the woman in full public view.The accused has been identified as a rowdy sheeter Ganji Siva. He is working as a lawry cleaner and stays in railway New Colony in Vishakapatnam.The passers-by refused to pay heed to woman's desperate calls for help. Many captured the incident on their mobile phones.The incident has gone viral on social media.
