JAIPUR: Despite the introduction of numerous trains on important routes by the North Western Railways (NWR), most of them are running packed prior to the festival of Holi. Trains to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Baroda and Chandigarh are either showing reservation against confirmation (RAC) or waiting list tickets. Long queues can be seen at the reservation offices at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur of passengers re-scheduling their travel plans of Holi.The festival rush was also witnessed on Sunday when people were seen looking for reservation in various trains. Holi is on March, 20. “I had gone to the reservation office to book ticket for Ahmedabad for March, 18 where the reservation clerk said only waiting list ticket was available for the Delhi-Ahmedabad Rajdhani express,” said Mukesh Jain, a trader of Jaipur.People looking for reservation in trains including Mumbai superfast are either getting RAC or waiting list tickets for the dates including March, 17 to March, 19. Similar situation is witnessed in trains to Gujarat , Punjab and other parts of the country. Even, people who wish to travel within Rajasthan are unable to get confirmed tickets for these dates. Travel agents are denying the availability of confirmed tickets in various trains for two to three days prior to Holi.
