CM: Trichy bus stand project report ready

"A detailed project report (DPR) through a consultant has been prepared to establish an integrated bus terminal at Kottapattu. Trichy: Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy announced that a detailed report has been prepared to construct an integrated bus stand at Kottapattu off Pudukottai road in Trichy, here on Thursday. "The Union ministry for road transport and highways department gave an in-principal approval for the project. The action is being taken on the detailed project report through the national highways department," said EPS.A heart attack diagnosis centre will be set up each at the KAP Viswanatham government medical college hospital, government hospitals at Lalgudi, Musiri, Manapparai, Srirangam and Thuraiyur and a new drug ware house in Trichy. It will be implemented after making a business model following the technical and financial feasibility studies," said Edappadi K Palaniswamy.It may be recalled that the previous governments had planned to build an integral bus stand in Panjappur on Madurai road but it was met with political roadblocks.The chief minister also announced the proposal for 11 new bridges to be constructed by the highways department apart from three rail overbridges across between Kattur and Lalgudi railway stations, Thiruverumbur railway station and between Srirangm and Trichy town railway stations, a bypass road to Thuraiyur and renovation of travellers bungalow in Manapparai,A proposal to convert the 77 kms stretch from Trichy to Namakkal into national highways was another major announcement.
