Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dedicate road from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on February 19

Modi will formally dedicate the four-lane national highway connecting Kanyakumari with Kashmir (Srinagar) from Kanyakumari on February 19, Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan said on Monday"We see a lot of positivity in Tamil Nadu. CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tirupur and Kanyakumari districts in February to attend public meetings as part of the BJP's Lok Sabha election campaign, official communication from the party confirmed on Monday. "People will not forgive those who showed black flags to the Prime Minister, who had come for (launching) public welfare schemes. Modi would visit Tirupur on February 10 and Kanyakumari on February 19.The meetings are meant to reach out to the people in the state and popuralize the Centre's welfare and development schemes. The BJP will also not tolerate those making cheap criticism," she added.

The response to his speech at the Madurai meeting was overwhelming," BJP's election co-incharge for Tamil Nadu, C P Ravi, said.Meanwhile, the BJP flayed MDMK founder Vaiko for holding a black flag demonstration against Modi during his Madurai visit. While Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan claimed the protest "had no effect" on PM's name or fame, BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan said it was not reflective of the people's sentiments.Criticizing Vaiko, Tamilisai said in a statement, "Your black flag protest is for your own publicity and it does not reflect Tamil Nadu people's sentiments". "People will not forgive those who showed black flags to the Prime Minister, who had come for (launching) public welfare schemes. The BJP will also not tolerate those making cheap criticism," she added.
