DHARAMSHALA: Weather turned extremely cold on Monday across Himachal Pradesh bringing rains and snow to various parts of the state. This also led to the grounding of the flight of chief minister Jairam Thakur who was forced to cancel the scheduled rallies at different parts of the state.The chief minister had planned to attend various programmes in the Kangra district on Sunday and Monday. He was at Dharamshala on Monday morning. After attending various functions here, he was scheduled to leave to Bilaspur to attend a programme along with Union health minister JP Nadda.Then, a massive rally of Himachal electricity board employees was scheduled at Nagrota Bagwan in the Kangra district. But the CM could not reach the rally venue as his flight was grounded at Shimla.Public relation officer Sachin Sanger confirmed that due to weather his flight could not take off from Shimla and the programme of the CM was cancelled for the day.It was said that CM’s chopper took off from Bilaspur to Chandigarh to drop the Union health minister. But due to fuel shortage it took flight to Shimla rather than to Nagrota Bagwan.By the time chopper was done with refilling of the fuel, the weather had changed and flight could not take off from Shimla.The CM was scheduled to visit Terrace area of Kangra district. But predictions stated that weather would remain bad for next few days.
