With the counting of votes for the upcoming elections approaching, the district administration has initiated extensive preparations to ensure a seamless process. As part of these efforts, training sessions for postal ballot and EVM vote counting staff were conducted in two shifts at Michael John Auditorium, Bistupur, under the supervision of District Election Officer  Ananya Mittal.    The training aimed to familiarize personnel with the technicalities and sensitivities of the counting process while ensuring they perform their duties with accuracy and efficiency.    The first session, held from 10 AM to 1 PM, focused on the procedures for counting postal ballots. The second session, conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM, provided detailed instructions on EVM vote counting. The sessions were led by district-level master trainers who emphasized the importance of precision in every step of the process.    Addressing the trainees, ITDA Project Director  Dipankar Chaudhary underscored the critical role of counting personnel in maintaining the integrity of the election process. Counting of votes is not just a procedural task but a responsibility that demands attention to detail and complete dedication. Ensure you clear all doubts during training and carry out your duties with utmost diligence, he stated.    Personnel were trained on the various forms, formats, and reports they will need to handle on the day of counting. They were also briefed on their specific roles and responsibilities. The following key instructions were emphasized:  All counting staff must report to the Cooperative College Counting Hall at 5 AM on the day of counting. Carrying food items, mobile phones, or any unauthorized objects into the counting hall will be strictly prohibited. Staff must adhere to the protocols and guidelines outlined during the training.    The training sessions provided an interactive platform where the master trainers addressed the doubts and concerns of the staff. Practical demonstrations and detailed explanations helped clarify procedures, ensuring that personnel were fully equipped to handle their responsibilities.    With the training sessions completed, the district administration has taken a significant step toward ensuring a transparent and error-free counting process. The detailed planning and meticulous execution reflect the administrations commitment to upholding the sanctity of the democratic process.    The preparations for vote counting are now in full swing, with counting personnel equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to carry out their duties effectively. The success of these efforts will play a crucial role in determining the smooth conclusion of the electoral process, said an official.
