BJP state president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Jharkhand Foundation Day. He said that the Modi government is fully dedicated to the pride and honour of the tribal society. Babulal Marandi described the decision to name Delhis Sarai Kale Khan Chowk after Bhagwan Birsa Munda as a true tribute to Dharti Aaba. He said that this step is a symbol of honouring the legacy of tribal brave sons. Attacking the opposition, Marandi said that for decades, attempts were made to suppress the tribal heroes of Jharkhand and their glorious history. He said that the opposition ignored the legacy of the brave sons of Jharkhand, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the contribution of Bhagwan Birsa Munda has been recognised at the national level. Appreciating the organisation of Tribal Pride Day, Marandi said that with this every child of the country will be familiar with the inspirational saga of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He called it a symbol of honour for the tribal society. Marandi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of Jharkhand and the tribal society. He said that Jharkhand and its tribal society are getting national recognition and respect due to the efforts of the central government. JMM MLA joins BJP Meanwhile, in another development JMM MLA from Littipara Dinesh William Marandi, who was angry with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has joined the BJP. He formally joined the BJP in the meeting of Union Minister and Jharkhand BJP election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The main reason for Dinesh Marandis displeasure was JMM cutting his ticket and giving it to Hemlal Murmu. Angry MLA Dinesh Marandi had publicly questioned JMM and Hemant Soren. In a viral video, Dinesh Marandi claimed that Hemant Sorens family is not a native of Jharkhand. He said that Hemant Sorens grandfather came from Purulia in Bengal and settled in Nimra. He raised the question why the Hemant Soren government did not implement the Khatian based local policy of 1932 despite having an absolute majority. Considering Dinesh Marandis statement as a serious indiscipline, JMM Central General Secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey issued him a show cause notice. He was directed to file a reply within 24 hours. The party clarified that if a satisfactory reply is not received, disciplinary action will be taken. But before giving the reply, he joined the BJP.
