BJP accuses Dr Ajoy Kumar of anti-worker policies

  • | Tuesday | 29th October, 2024

Amidst ongoing political slugfest, former District BJP President Ram Babu Tiwari and other BJP leaders launched a scathing attack on Congress candidate Dr. Ajoy  Kumar, who is contesting from the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency. Tiwari labelled Kumar as a "troublemaker" who lacks the leadership qualities to guide party workers. He asserted that Kumar has a longstanding history of anti-worker policies and has oppressed slum dwellers during his tenure as a senior executive. Tiwari claimed that Dr. Ajoy  Kumar is running a deceptive campaign aimed at misleading the local populace. "Seeing his certain defeat, he is making baseless allegations against others in panic," Tiwari stated, emphasizing that the BJP will not tolerate falsehoods aimed at diverting public attention. The press conference included testimonies from local residents Binod Jha and Binod Prasad, who recounted their experiences of harassment at the hands of Kumar. BJP leaders recalled Kumars tenure as DGM (HR) at Telco (Tata Motors), alleging that he made significant cuts to the incentive and additional bonuses that were vital for workers livelihoods. "At that time, both bonuses amounted to around ₹15,000 to ₹16,000, which is equivalent to ₹40,000 to ₹45,000 today," Tiwari explained, underscoring the financial impact of Kumars decisions on the workforce. The leaders further criticized Kumar for reducing medical facilities for workers and terminating a program that allowed employees to send their parents abroad for medical treatment at company expense. They also highlighted Kumars failure to fulfill his promise of making 500 temporary workers permanent each year, a commitment that led to protests among temporary employees. In addition to his perceived anti-worker stance, the BJP accused Kumar of oppressing slum residents. Tiwari recounted incidents where Kumar allegedly cut water pipelines in Gayatri Nagar, leaving residents without access to clean drinking water. They also accused him of using excessive force during protests against water connections, stating that many citizens were beaten, and cases were filed against them during his tenure as SP. BJP leaders cautioned the public against Kumars "disguised" intentions, warning that he is attempting to manipulate the electorate under the guise of a well-wisher. "The people of the region have been deceived once, and we urge them to remain vigilant against such impersonators," Tiwari concluded, calling for a united front against misleading political agendas.
