MummyPapaVoteDo campaign starts today

Chief Electoral Officer Shri K Ravi Kumar has said that for creating voting awareness among people in upcoming assembly elections, children of class 6-12 of all middle and higher schools of the state will write letters to their parents on Monday to vote. The letter writing program in schools will be held on October 28 between 11 am to 12 noon. All concerned have been instructed to implement this unique idea of voter awareness. He said that before the children write the letters, the headmaster and teachers of the school will ensure to orient all the children on the need and importance of voting. After writing the letters within the stipulated time limit, all the children will take their letters home and hand them over to their parents and will also request them to vote on the day of voting. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora said that to make this message reach as many voters as possible, a hashtag MummyPapaVoteDo campaign will be run on social media on Monday. She has appealed to everyone to join this campaign and make this voter awareness program a success. Many efforts are being made continuously by the Chief Electoral Officers office to maximize the voting percentage of the state in the Assembly elections 2024. In the same sequence, as an innovative effort, a campaign is to be run by school children in coordination with the Education Department tomorrow, Monday, 28 October. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Kumar said that most of todays youth are active on social media. Social media is the easiest and simplest medium to reach any campaign to the people. Therefore, tomorrow, i.e. on Monday, October 28, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, children, parents and common people will post their posts from their social media handles with the hashtag MummyPapaVotwDo, and also tag the social media handles of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer. He has also appealed to the social media influencers of the state to participate in the said campaign.
