It was a day of high political drama and grand displays of strength in East Singhbhum, as several key candidates from major parties filed their nominations for the upcoming assembly elections. With processions, prayers, and powerful addresses, the stage is set for an intense electoral battle in the region. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in particular, showcased its organizational might as Purnima Sahu, the partys candidate for the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency, filed her nomination amidst a massive gathering of supporters. Thousands of BJP workers from various mandals of the constituency converged at the SDO office, where Sahu formally submitted her papers. The grand procession, which began with prayers at the Sheetla Mata Temple in Bhalubasa, highlighted the BJPs intent to make a strong push in the constituency, which has been the center of political tussle over the years. BJP workers from Sitaramdera and Baridih assembled at Bhalubasa Harijan School ground, while others from Telco, Birsanagar, Golmuri, and Sakchi gathered at Netaji Subhash Maidan in Aambagan. The two groups merged in a grand procession, symbolizing unity and strength, as they escorted Purnima Sahu to the SDOs office. The BJPs show of force was further amplified by the presence of senior party leaders and loyal cadres who cheered and chanted slogans in support of their candidate, reaffirming the partys deep-rooted presence in Jamshedpur East. Meanwhile, Meera Munda, the BJP candidate from Potka and wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, also filed her nomination at the ADM Law and Order office. Meera Mundas candidacy is seen as a strategic move by the BJP, capitalizing on the political legacy of the Munda family in the Potka region. Her nomination was accompanied by enthusiastic supporters, further indicating the BJPs determination to maintain a stronghold in the area. Across the constituency, Congress candidate from Jamshedpur West, Banna Gupta, took his place in the political spotlight by filing his nomination at the Returning Officer Additional Deputy Commissioners office. A popular figure in the region, Gupta is seen as a formidable opponent for the BJP, having built a strong connection with the local populace through his tenure and party work. In Ghatsila, another BJP stalwart, Babulal Soren, filed his nomination, continuing the partys day of high activity. Soren, the son of former Chief Minister Champai Soren, left his home after seeking blessings from his father and prominent BJP leaders Ramesh Hansda and Dashrath Hansda. The Soren family, well-known for their influence in tribal politics, has ensured that their reach extends far beyond Ghatsila, making Babulal Sorens candidacy a critical part of the BJPs strategy. He formally submitted his nomination at the Ghatsila subdivision office in a ceremony that echoed the BJPs ongoing efforts to consolidate tribal votes. The day also saw a significant development in Jamshedpur West, where Saryu Roy, an NDA-supported JDU candidate, filed his nomination at the Additional Deputy Commissioners office. Roy, a prominent figure known for his clean image and anti-corruption stance, is expected to attract voters who are disillusioned with traditional party politics. His nomination signals an interesting twist in the Jamshedpur West constituency, as his influence could sway voters across party lines.  In a parallel show of strength from the Congress camp, Dr. Ajoy Kumar, the partys candidate for Jamshedpur East, officially filed his nomination papers at the SDO office. Accompanied by a robust team of supporters, including Advocate Pradeep Kumar Singh, senior Congress leader Ramashray Prasad, and proposers P.N. Jha and Ravindra Jha (alias Nattu Jha), Dr. Kumar submitted his nomination in two sets, signifying his readiness for the political battle ahead. The nomination process got accelerated with Dineshanand Goswami and Sameer Mahanti from Baharagora filing their nominations. AJSU candidate Ramchandra Sahis from Jagsalai and Surya Singh Besra from Ghatsila along with several independents filed their nominations.
