Series of events to be organised to create voter awareness

In order to make voters aware about the upcoming Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Election 2024, a campaign under SVEEP- Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation was jointly organised by Ranchi District Administration and Ranchi Municipal Corporation for the members of Residents Welfare Association (RWA) on Monday. Chairing the meeting, Deputy Development Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav emphasized that, For a strong and healthy democracy, it is necessary that maximum number of people exercise their franchise and that every citizen should work to make his family and people around him aware about this. The DDC also appealed to the members of RWA to organise various SVEEP related activities for the people of their respective apartments and neighbourhoods so that the common man is made aware about voting. On the occasion, Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar urged the citizens to discharge their duties as voters on the day of voting and definitely step out to cast their votes. The attendees were also made aware about the Voter Helpline App and Cvigil App, a quiz was also organised under SVEEP while the oath to vote was also administered. Deputy Development Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav, Assistant Collector Aditya Pandey, Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Administrator Gautam Prasad Sahu and other along with representatives of RWA were present. A training programme for Voters Awareness Forum is scheduled to take place at the Aryabhatta Auditorium on October 22 where representatives from various banks, restaurants, officials from various private and public sector en0tities will be present. Nodal officers who were appointed in all the colleges for the General Assembly Elections which concluded earlier in May 2024, will also be part of the workshop. A marathon called Run for Democracy will also take place in the State capital on October 25 at Morabadi Ground. While mostly first time voters and college students will be participating in the event, citizens above 18 can also participate. With the aim of making voters aware for the upcoming Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Election 2024, a two- day art festival Art- 81 was also organised on October 18 and October 19 at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, Ranchi where as many as 81 artists from across Jharkhand showcased their art. The festival was organised with an aim to connect voters, especially the youth, through art while emphasizing on the importance of voting. To engage voters a wide range of activities for college students like dance competition, quiz competition and nukkad natak was also organised. Food stalls serving local Jharkhand cuisine were an added attraction. Students from various colleges including St Xaviers College, Marwari College, Nirmala College, Womens College to name a few actively participated in the event.
