The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), K Ravi Kumar has said that there may be attempts to influence voters through the movement of illegal money in the assembly elections. It is the duty of all enforcement agencies to completely ban illegal money and illegal material, he added. Kumar also said that it is mandatory to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission of India so that all candidates get a fair chance. He said that in the course of the election, he was holding a review meeting with senior officials of enforcement agencies held at the Election House on Monday. The CEO said that the Forest Department should stop the movement of illegal material by conducting intensive checks at all its checkposts. He directed the Income Tax Department to stop it by conducting intensive raids on the possible hideouts of illegal money and its movement. In the meeting, he directed to completely ban the possible hideouts of narcotics and its means of movement by conducting raids. On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Neha Arora, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Dev Das Dutta along with senior officers of enforcement agencies were present. Meanwhile, in another meeting, Kumar has said that the work of SVEEP should be expedited to motivate voters to vote in the Assembly Elections 2024. He said that all means of public relations such as posters, banners, print media, electronic media, social media, street plays, promotional vehicles etc. should be used to spread awareness among voters. He was addressing a meeting held with all the members of the SVEEP Committee at the Election House on Monday. He said that the volunteers engaged in the work of voting by the School Education Department should be selected and their training should also be completed with the material prepared by the headquarters for their training. He said that to ensure that certificates and ID cards are provided to the school children working as volunteers on time. He said that while providing assured minimum facilities at the polling stations, it should also be promoted so that no confusion arises among the common people about the polling station. On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora, Secretary of Welfare Department Kripananda Jha, State Project Director of Education Department Shashi Ranjan, Special Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Abhay Nandan Ambasht, Special Secretary of Information and Public Relations Department Rajiv Lochan Bakshi, along with representatives of Director Art and Culture, PIB, Press Club, Doordarshan, Akashvani, Nehru Kala Kendra and senior officials associated with the SWEEP of the Chief Electoral Office were present.
