Dr Ajoy accuses BJP of betraying workers, highlights Familyism in ticket distribution

  • | Monday | 21st October, 2024

Former MP and Congresss probable candidate from Jamshedpur East, Dr. Ajoy  Kumar, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of prioritizing family politics over the welfare of the people. In a press statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Ajoy  highlighted what he called the double character of the BJP, alleging that the partys claims of being against familyism were inconsistent, as it continues to field candidates from influential political families. Dr. Ajoy s criticism was focused on the BJPs choice of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, pointing to the selection of Purnima Das Sahu, the daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Raghubar  Das, Meera Munda, wife of senior leader Arjun Munda, and Babulal Soren, son of prominent leader Champai Soren. He sarcastically referred to these nominations as an example of women empowerment within the BJP. "Is this what the BJP calls empowering women? It seems that familyism is alive and well within the party," he quipped. Dr. Ajoy  further questioned the leadership of the BJP, pointing out that for 25 years, the party has been unable to field a single candidate capable of winning in Jamshedpur East without relying on dynastic ties. "BJP, the worlds largest party, is so short of leaders that they have to depend on family members to contest elections," he said. He accused the BJP of betraying its workers, arguing that the partys rank-and-file were merely being used as flag bearers for the leaderships family interests. Dr. Ajoy  criticized the BJPs record on development in the region, alleging that under its rule, the people of Jamshedpur East have seen no significant improvements. "In 25 years, what have the people of Jamshedpur gained? They still dont have access to clean drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, educational institutions, or employment-generating industries," he asserted. He added that despite having elected Raghubar  Das as Chief Minister, the people of Jamshedpur were still denied ownership rights over land in the city, further cementing the claim that the ruling familys priorities remain within their own fold. This is the same family that betrayed the people. Even after 25 years, their thinking remains limited to their own familys benefit. Now, the people of Jamshedpur have to decide if they want this dynasty to continue or if they want real change, Dr. Ajoy  concluded.
