SUVIDHA App to facilitate candidates in nomination process: CEO

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar has said that with the announcement of the assembly general elections, the model code of conduct has come into force in the State. He told the representatives of the recognized political parties that the SUVIDHA app has been created by the Election Commission, using which all the applications used by the candidates in the nomination process can be filled. Kumar said that during this time, some necessary guidelines have been issued by the Election Commission of India for all political parties and candidates participating in the election. By complying with this, clean, fair and peaceful voting will be ensured. With the aim of providing equal opportunity to all in the election process, a spending limit of Rs 40 lakh has been fixed by each candidate during the election, he added. The CEO said that to bring transparency in the expenditure of the candidates, a register of expenditure details has to be submitted in the office of the District Election Officer. This register is made public by the District Election Officer on the website of his office. He was holding a meeting with all the recognized political parties after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the Assembly elections on Wednesday, he added. Kumar told the representatives of the recognized political parties that the an appointment can be taken in the RO office for the day of nomination. Along with this, it will also help in filling your details and making affidavit. Through the C-Vigil app, one can also lodge a quick complaint on violation of the Model Code of Conduct, he added. Kumar said that all the candidates are expected to understand all the instructions related to the election and also make their workers aware of it, so that no difficulty arises in calculating the election related expenses. He said that during the election, some rules have been made by the state for publicity by the candidates, election process, star campaigners, political parties and others, along with this, the Election Commission of India has also issued a directory of "what to do, what not to do". Any kind of doubt can be avoided by following these and the guidelines of the Election Commission of India during the election, he added.   On this occasion, System Analyst SN Jameel gave point-wise information about the use of various online applications used in elections such as C-Vigil, Suvidha App, KYC and others used by the candidates. On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Neha Arora, OSD Geeta Chaubey, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Shri Dev Das Dutta along with representatives of various recognized political parties were present.
