The police have recovered the body of a youth who drowned in the Annaraj Dam located in Navadih village of Garhwa police station area of the district on Thursday.  Police took the body in their possession and sent it to the Sadar Hospital for Postmortem. After post mortem  handed over body to the family.  According to the information, on Sunday early morning, the local people informed the Garhwa police  that the body of the youth drowned in the dam is lying on the banks of the dam. After this, the Garhwa police informed his family and reached the spot.  It is reported that on Thursday afternoon, Pintu Gupta had gone to Annaraj Dam with his three companions for boating. During this, he went into deep water and got down from the boat and started bathing. Meanwhile, he drowned. His companions informed the boat operator about this. The boat operator immediately informed the Sadar police station. Garhwa police reached the spot along with the police force and the local divers started trying to take out Pintu. But the local divers did not succeed.  On the second day also, the search was carried out by the local divers throughout of the day but he could not find out his body.   Later the district administration called the NDRF team to search for him.  The  NDRF team kept searching for his body throughout Saturday. But no success was achieved. On Sunday morning, the body was found floating on the banks of the dam. In this regard, Garhwa SP Deepak Kumar Pandey said that a UDC case will be registered and investigation will be done, after which further action will be taken.
