Steps will be taken to implement Advocate Protection Act in State: AG

State Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan today praised the schemes launched by the state government for the welfare of lawyers. Ranjan said that 164 lawyers in the state are taking advantage of the pension scheme. Earlier, new lawyers were given an incentive amount of Rs 1000 per month, which has now been increased to Rs 5000. On January 7, Chief Minister Hemant Soren had a direct interaction with the lawyers of the state and listened to their pain. During that time, he had promised the lawyers that his government would link the lawyers with health insurance and life insurance. The Chief Minister kept his promise. Besides, they will get Rs 5 lakhs of medical insurance coverage and a pension of Rs 14,000 every month. Jharkhand is the first state in the country, where the government is making lawyers financially strong by linking them with its schemes. About 15 thousand lawyers of the state are members of the Trustee Committee. At present, the government has made a provision of Rs 13 crore for health insurance. The Advocate General has urged the District Bar Association and other associations working in the interest of lawyers to connect all the lawyers of the state with the governments schemes. Along with this, he said that initiatives will also be taken towards the long-pending Advocate Protection Act. The Advocate General was addressing a press conference in the auditorium of the High Court. State Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan today said that initiatives will be taken soon to implement the long-pending Advocate Protection Act in Jharkhand. On January 7, Chief Minister Hemant Soren had a direct dialogue with the lawyers of the state and listened to their pain. During that time, he had promised the lawyers that he would link the lawyers with health insurance and life insurance. The chief minister kept his promises. Jharkhand is the first state in the country, where the government is strengthening the lawyers financially by linking them with its schemes, the A-G said. He further said about 15,000 lawyers of the state are members of the Trustee Committee. At present, the government has made a provision of Rs 13 crore for health insurance. The Advocate General has urged the District Bar Association and other associations working in the interest of lawyers to connect all the lawyers of the state with the governments schemes.
