Seminar on environmental challenges

Indraprastha College for Women hosted an international seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday, August 27th, titled "Envisaging Bharat as the Voice of the Global South: Revisiting COP 28." The seminar was graced by Padma Shri recipient Shri Ashok Bhagat as the Chief Guest. Shri Bhagat, a pioneer in environmental protection since 1983, shared his visionary approach to sustainable development, emphasizing the power of small, community-driven models to address environmental challenges. His insights underscored the importance of Indias leadership in shaping global environmental policies. The seminar also included contributions from prominent environmentalists, including Padma Shri awardees Ms. Chami Murmu, Shri Prem Chand Sharma, Shri Basanti Devi (a stalwart of the Chipko Movement), Shri Laxman Singh, and Dr. Netrapal Yadav. Their insights enriched the discourse on Indias pivotal role in the global environmental narrative, particularly as the nation prepares for COP 28.
