Welfare Minister inaugurates State painting workshop cum exhibition

Art and culture has been our identity. We have always been sensitive towards our culture and traditions. There is a need to make the tribal art and culture of Jharkhand more prosperous, said Minister of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class Welfare Department, Deepak Birua, on the occasion of the inauguration of the workshop cum exhibition on the painting style of Jharkhand under the World Tribal Day Festival to be held at Birsa Munda Smriti Udyan. Birua inaugurated the workshop cum exhibition by playing the nagra. He said that the tribal culture of the state will be showcased on the occasion of the World Tribal Festival, so that the world can be introduced to the culture of the tribal community of Jharkhand. He said that the Tribal Festival is a platform, which will give a new dimension to our culture. He also shared his views on the protection and promotion of tribal culture. On this occasion, Secretary Kripananda Jha said that the tradition of dance and song will also be showcased in this event and a confluence of tribal culture of the entire country will be seen. He said, we also have to work to enrich the traditional art and culture of Jharkhand. The department is very sensitive about this. He informed that a total of 57 participants are participating in the painting exhibition. Welfare Commissioner Ajaynath Jha while addressing the inaugural ceremony said that the tribal culture of Jharkhand will be depicted in this festival. A big canvas is being installed in the festival for painting, on which the people coming to the festival will be able to depict the feelings related to the tribal culture. He said that experts of painting of Jharkhand will also be present as trainers in this workshop cum exhibition, who will give information about the aspects related to the culture here as well as give training. He said that accommodation and food have been arranged for all the visitors. On this occasion, many officials and artists of the welfare department including Namita Rani Tuti of TRI were present.
