State Govt assures swift action to tackle drought

State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, replying to the governments demand for a supplementary budget, assured that the Hemant Soren government will make special arrangements to deal with drought. This is the third year of drought. The CM has been told that special arrangements will have to be made. On behalf of the government, I am assuring that the government will make special arrangements for drought. He said that Kalpana Soren had answered the need for a supplementary budget as to why the state government brings it under Article 2005. The government brings a supplementary budget for new schemes, to regularize withdrawals from JCF and for unnecessary expenditure, said Oraon.   He said that the Chief Minister Mainiya Yojana is a revolutionary scheme, it is commendable. This is a scheme worth Rs 872 crore. Rameshwar Oraon said that the budget has also been brought for free electricity and scholarship. The previous governments have not done as efficient financial management as the current government has done. The government has taken a loan of more than Rs 40 thousand crore. Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon on Monday tabled a supplementary Budget of Rs 4,833.39 crore for the financial year 2024-25 amidst the disruptions. Out of total budgetary allocations Women Child Development and Social Security Department has got Rs 1114 crores, Panchayati Raj Department has got Rs 756 crores, School Education and Literacy Department has got Rs 584 crores, Home Prison and Disaster Management Department, Home Department has got Rs 494 crores, ST SC and Backward Class Welfare Department has got Rs 429 crores. Meanwhile, the third day of Monsoon session too witnessed uproar with opposition BJP raising Bangladeshi infiltrators issue due to which the House was adjourned for some time. Anant Ojha, MLA of Sahebganj Assembly constituency, expressed his views in the House regarding Bangladeshi infiltration. He said that the entire state is concerned about the issue of daughter, bread and soil. Ojha said that it is absolutely justified to be concerned about Bangladeshi infiltration. Those who say that there is not a single Bangladeshi infiltrator in the state. They should read the reply given by the government in the House. Sahebganj MLA said that the state government has admitted that four Bangladeshi citizens have been caught and sent to jail under the law. Anant Ojha expressed his views in support of the cut motion brought on the supplementary budget in the second session. Ojha said that vote jihad is coming in Santhal. Muslim voters are increasing in these areas. From where are these voters increasing in such a large number. He said that this challenge is not limited to Santhal only. This is happening in Ghatsila also.
