Traffic police in Daltonganj today seized 5 tempos and 23 motorcycles for various violations of the traffic rules.  The 5 tempos were fined 1150 rupees each for parking at places not designated.  Similarly 23 motor cycles were fined for absence of helmet of the bikers and for having no driving licence or for triple riding.  Traffic in charge Samal Ahmad said bikers take pride in not wearing hamlets but know also as  to how lives are lost in road accidents.  These riders are obstinate. Some are first time offenders but some are also habitual offenders.  Vehicle checking will go on with more vigour said the traffic incharge Ahmad.  The no to duty by the Sahayak Police protesting for the regularisation has affected vehicle checking.  31 Sahayak Police who used to be a part of the traffic checking / regulating team are away from duty leaving just 12 cops  here to maintain traffic and conduct checking.
