TSF holds awareness session on World No-Tobacco Day

The RISHTA Projects Jamadoba unit organised awareness sessions at two locations including  Government  High School Karitand under the Dhanbad block and  Malkera South Sachivalay under the Baghmara block as part of the World No-Tobacco Day campaign on Friday.   These sessions were  aimed at educating the community about the dangers of tobacco use and its adverse impacts on human health.    At the Karitand High School campus, the awareness session was led by Dr Rajkumar, Medical Officer, TMH Jamadoba, with contributions from Bipin Singh Choudhary, Manager, Community Development, Tata Steel Foundation, Bharat Mahato Principal, Karitand High School, Baba Charan Mahato, Secretary, Karitand High School and the RISHTA team. Dr Rajkumar delivered an informative session on the harmful effects of tobacco, emphasising its link to serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, and respiratory disorders.   Simultaneously, another session was held at the Malkera South Sachivalay, attended by Dr Ankit Prakash, Medical Officer, Bhelatand Feeder Hospital, Dr Sudhir Kumar, Medical Officer, Community Health Center Baghmara, Dr Sekhar Chandra, Medical Officer, CHC Baghmara, Dr Vivekananda Patra, Medical Officer TSF. The doctors shared valuable insights regarding how the use of Tobacco impacts the health condition of people. The session was attended by Vinod Rajak, Mukhiya, Malkera South, Anjan Devi, Mukhiya, Malkera North, and the RISHTA team.    Both sessions were very interactive, allowing participants to engage in discussions and learn about the health risks associated with tobacco use. The events saw active participation from the local communities, and a total of 135 people participated in these awareness programmes.
