Polling personnel to follow complete compliance with EC guidelines

In accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, police officers will not be allowed inside polling booths during the elections. District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav emphasized that webcasting will be implemented at all polling centers to ensure transparency and adherence to the rules. She urged all polling personnel to thoroughly read the provided handbook outlining dos and donts.   Senior nodal officers from various cells provided the final training to presiding officers (POs) and polling officers (P1, P2, and P3) of the Bokaro assembly constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on May 25, 2024. The training sessions were conducted in phases at Bokaro Ispat Senior Secondary School and BSL Plus Two High School under the supervision of DEO Vijaya Jadhav.   Notably general observer Arun Mahesh Babu inspected the training sessions, listened to the instructions being given, and interacted with the trainees.   DEO Jadhav reiterated that police personnel are restricted from entering polling booths, a responsibility to be ensured by the presiding officers. She highlighted that webcasting at all polling centers will enable real-time monitoring by the district election office, the Chief Electoral Officers office, and the Election Commission of India. She stressed the importance of strict adherence to the guidelines, including GPS tracking of all vehicles transporting polling personnel to their designated centers.   The training covered various essential topics, including health and medical kits by Civil Surgeon Dr. Dinesh Kumar, material management by Shweta Gudia, dispatch center reporting by Pankaj Dubey, vehicle and postal ballot management by DTO Vandana Shejwalkar, and webcasting by Shailendra. Senior nodal officer cum AC Mohammad Mumtaz Ansari and Bokaro Returning Officer cum SDO Om Prakash Gupta also shared crucial information related to receiving protocols.   Polling personnel were acquainted with the RO handbook through 90 simple question-and-answer sessions, discussing various scenarios and EVM-VVPAT operations. Practical training on EVM-VVPAT handling was also provided by master trainers.
