CEO asks Voter Awareness Forum to encourage voters

Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar has said that a Voter Awareness Program is going on in the entire state. After voting, all the Voter Awareness Forums will inform the Commission about the feedback of the voters associated with their organization. For this, Voter Awareness Forum has been formed in non-government institutions. Their job is to motivate the voters associated with their organization along with their families to vote. Also, Voter Awareness Forum will definitely encourage the people of its organization to take selfies at the polling stations to confirm that they have utilized the paid leave on the voting day. Also, if you face any difficulty in voting, please inform the Commission about it, so that it can be resolved in future elections. He was giving information related to the Lok Sabha elections 2024 to the media representatives at Nirvachan Sadan on Sunday. The CEO said that for the first time in the state, media has been notified as "essential services". All essential services personnel have to fill Form 12D and submit it, so that they can exercise their franchise through postal ballot even while being on duty on the polling day. He said that authorization letters have been issued to media representatives for election coverage. However, media representatives who want to exercise their franchise through postal ballot can submit a photocopy of the media authorization letter issued by the Election Commission of India, a photocopy of their voter ID card and fill Form 12D and submit it in the postal ballot box of the district. With this, they will be able to exercise their franchise even while being on duty. He said that since today was Sunday, no candidate had filed his nomination papers for the fourth phase of elections in the state. The last date for filling the nomination of candidates for the fourth phase of elections is till 25 April 2024.
