29 kg silver slabs worth Rs 28L seized

Chhattisgarh Police on Tuesday seized 29.21 kg silver slabs worth Rs 28.33 lakh from a man in Mahasamund district. Singhoda Station House Officer Mahesh Sahu identified him as Sukhdev Thakur of Uttar Pradesh. He lived in Raipur city. The police intercepted Thakur on board a bus at the Rehtkikhol check-post in Singhoda area. Thakur told the police that he brought the consignment from Odisha to Raipur but could not produce any document to back the case.
