Nitish opens school named after his wife

PATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated a girls higher secondary school at Bakhtiyarpur, his hometown, in Patna district. The school has been named after his spouse late Manju Sinha.Addressing the inaugural event held at the Manju Sinha Project Girls Higher Secondary School, Nitish said a girls high school was already operational on its premises. I had just asked officials to expand the school and run it in a better way. For the expansion plan, a part of land from the premises of Bakhtiyarpur police station was merged with the school campus and its buildings were made in a proper way, Nitish said.The CM also clarified that the school was named after his late spouse not by him, but former MLC and JD(U) leader Ramchandra Bharti. Bharti is sitting here in the programme. It was he who got this school named after my wife. I was not aware of it. I knew it later. If I had any idea, I would not have allowed naming of the school after my wife, Nitish told the audience.The CM asked the officials concerned to construct a new building for the neighbouring Bakhtiyarpur police station. The girl reportedly collapsed on the school premises and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Her parents have filed a complaint against the school, claiming that her death was suspicious.
