Threeday edu conclave ends

PATNA: The three-day ‘North Bihar Conclave on Higher Education-Entrepreneurship-Employability’, organized by Purnea University, concluded on Wednesday. The event aimed at promoting agriculture-based entrepreneurship and developing textile, fisheries, food processing and packaging industries in the region.Addressing the conclave, Purnea University vice-chancellor (VC) Rajesh Singh pointed out that an initiative had been made at the level of the Union ministry of textiles and commerce to open a centre of Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) in the region for the benefit of the local youth.“Steps have also been initiated to open a number of other industries under public-private partnership mode,” the VC said and announced the formation of an entrepreneurial advisory board of the university.US-based Youth Lab’s CEO and president Ajay Jha said his company would work together with Purnea University to promote entrepreneurship in the region.IIP-Delhi’s joint director and regional head Dr Tanweer Alam suggested that students, who wish to be entrepreneurs, should be provided proper training through vocational courses.Prominent among those who participated in the deliberations and shared their ideas at the conclave included Purbanchal University (Nepal) VC Ghanshyam Lal Das, Nepal Sanskrit University VC Kul Prasad Koirala, Bundelkhand University professor D K Bhatt, Alankar Motors founder Kumar Narendra, Brand Radiator founder Shashidhar Rajan and co-founder Himani Mishra, Satya Saarth co-founder and MD Mukul Saxena, Mithila Naturals-Delhi CEO Manish Anand and Fortune Group/Real Estate chairman and MD Major Vikash Singh.Magadh University former VC B N Pandey presided over the function.
