Bijnor: A watchman at a sugarcane purchase centre was found murdered in Bijnor’s Mandora village on Monday morning.According to police, 50-year-old Raju Kumar was watchman at a sugarcane purchase centre in his native village Sahalipur Mitthan alias Mandora under Sherkot police station area. He had left his house for work at the centre on Sunday night. When he did not return home for breakfast the next morning, his family members went looking for him at the purchase centre. He was not there. They continued searching for him and finally found his body in a nearby sugarcane field.There were several injury marks on his body and it seemed that he had been strangled. After finding the body, his family informed police. Police rushed to the scene and sent the body for post-mortem.Police have registered a case against unidentified killers based on a complaint lodged by his family. On being asked about the matter, Sherkot station house officer Himanshu Chauhan said, “Prima facie, it seems he has been murdered. Police are probing the matter and a case has been registered against unidentified persons.”
