UP includes 24 new officers in IPS cadre

Uttar Pradesh welcomed 24 new officers into the Indian Police Services (IPS) cadre on Tuesday, following the promotion of officers from the Provincial Police Services (PPS). The officers approved for induction during the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting include Bajrang Bali, Dr Dinesh Yadav, Sameer Saurabh, Mohd Irfan Ansari, Ajay Pratap, Nepal Singh, Anil Kumar, Kamlesh Bahadur, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Lal Bharat Kumar Pal, Rashmi Rani, Anil Kumar Yadav, Sanjay Kumar, Shailendra Kumar Srivastava, Laxmi Nivas Mishra, Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, Vishwajeet Srivastava, Manoj Kumar Awasthi, Amrita Mishra, Rohit Mishra, Shivram Yadav, Ashok Kumar, and Deependra Nath Chaudhary. Reports said that 30 PPS officers were considered during the DPC meeting, with 24 ultimately promoted to IPS. All promoted officers belong to the 1995 and 1996 batches of PPS. The meeting was attended by officials from the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the chief secretary, the additional chief secretary (home affairs), and the director general of police (DGP). Notably, the name of Sanjay Kumar Yadav, a PPS officer from the 1993 batch, was not discussed during the meeting due to a pending investigation.
