Ajit Prasad, the son of Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad, Awadhesh Prasad, has been booked for assault, issuing threats and forceful abduction. A case has been registered against him at the Kotwali Nagar police station in the Ayodhya district. The charges include assault, abduction and issuing threats, under sections 140(3), 115(2), 191(3) and 351(3) of the relevant laws. The FIR names three individuals, including Ajit Prasad, and involves 15 unidentified people. The complaint was filed by a person named Ravi Tiwari, a resident of Palia Tiwari of Purakalandar police station area. Tiwari claims that he had mediated in getting the land of Shitla Prasad, a resident of Akwara, registered in the name of Ajit Prasad and Lal Bahadur. During this, Ajit Prasad gave one lakh rupees through a cheque. Ravi alleges that he was standing near SBI near Civil Lines on Saturday when Ajit Prasad came there in a four-wheeler with his supporter Raju Yadav, a constable and 10 to 15 unknown people and forced him to sit in the car. He alleges that the abductors beat him in the car and then dropped him near the tehsil office. They also took back the one lakh rupee given through cheque, further alleged, adding that the abductors also made a video of this.  Meanwhile, reacting to the FIR, Bharatiya Janata Party IT Cell chief Amit Malviya took to social media, stating, Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, whom Akhilesh Yadav is currently supporting, has a son, Ajit Prasad, who kidnapped Ravi Tiwari and beat him up. Since the Samajwadi Party won a few seats, incidents of violence and hooliganism have not ceased. Malviya further said, There is a saying in Uttar Pradesh — wherever the SP flag is raised, goons are present. According to sources, the Samajwadi Party is likely to field Ajit Prasad as its candidate from the Milkipur constituency in the forthcoming assembly bypolls. The Milkipur assembly seat fell vacant after Awadhesh Prasad was elected to the Lok Sabha from Faizabad. Although the by-election dates have not yet been announced, there is speculation that the Samajwadi Party might field Ajit Prasad from Milkipur and Lalji Vermas daughter from Katehari. Ticket claimants, including Devmani Kanaujia, also approached the SP office on Sunday. Assembly seats where by-elections are going to be held are Katehari in Ambedkar Nagar, Karhal in Mainpuri, Milkipur in Ayodhya, Meerapur in Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Majhawan in Mirzapur, Sisamau in Kanpur Nagar, Khair in Aligarh, Phulpur in Prayagraj and Kundarki in Moradabad. Out of these 10 assembly seats which will go for polls, five were won by the Samajwadi Party, three by the Bharatiya Janata Party and one each by Rashtriya Lok Dal and NISHAD Party. RLD and NISHAD Party are partners of National Democratic Alliance.
