The Enforcement Directorate has taken action against Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament from Jaunpur, Babu Singh Kushwaha. The ED seized Kushwahas land worth crores of rupees in Lucknow on Friday. After this, bulldozers will also run on the illegal construction made on the seized land. The ED had registered a case of money laundering in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam during the Bahujan Samaj Party regime. The case also includes land worth crores of rupees on Kanpur Road in Lucknow which allegedly belongs to former minister in the Mayawati government, Babu Singh Kushwaha, now a SP Member of Parliament from Jaunpur.  Kushwaha was arrested and lodged in the jail in the NRHM case. Reports said that the ED team took big action in this case on Friday. The ED team seized Babu Singh Kushwahas property located on Kanpur Road near Scooters India Limited campus. The ED sleuths also took a bulldozer with them to demolish the illegal construction made on the said land. This land was purchased by Kushwaha in the name of Vindhya Shakti Cement Company and a printing press of a Hindi newspaper was also opened on it. It may be mentioned that till now, the ED has seized property worth about Rs 250 crores of Babu Singh Kushwaha.  Kushwaha had invested billions of rupees earned through corruption in NHRM and UP Rajya Nirman Evam Shram Vikas Sahakari Sangh Limited (UPCLDF) in benami properties. This was revealed by ED in its investigation. It was found in the investigation that many properties are in the name of Babu Singh Kushwahas family members and some in the names of his close ones.
