Priyanka targets UP govt over poor health services

  • | Wednesday | 31st July, 2024

Congress general secretary and former in-charge of party affairs in Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on Monday attacked the Yogi Adityanath government over the poor state of affairs of the government-run hospitals. Priyanka Vadra took to the social media handle X to target the health services in Uttar Pradesh. She wrote, If writer Dharamvir Bharti ji was alive today, instead of writing Himalayas on a handcart, he would have written Health services of UP on a handcart. This creation would not have described the beauty of the Himalayas, but would have been a grotesque description of the immense suffering of the people and the chaos in the state. She added. There is no hospital for treatment; if there is a hospital, there is no ambulance, if you reach the hospital on a handcart with unbearable pain of a broken bone, there is no doctor. The patient is told, there is no orthopedic doctor, come after three days. The promise was of good days, but here the people are struggling to save their lives. It may be mentioned that in a distressing incident in Bulandshahr district, the video of which went viral on Monday, a patient with broken bones was turned away from a local hospital due to the absence of an orthopedic doctor. The hospital staff informed the family that no orthopedic specialist was available and advised them to return in three days. The patient, in immense pain, was left with no immediate medical care. His son, visibly anxious, was seen wandering around on a cart with his ailing father, seeking help. This heart-wrenching scene underscores the challenges faced by patients in accessing timely and adequate medical treatment, particularly in areas with limited healthcare resources. The video, capturing their struggle, highlights the urgent need for improved healthcare facilities and personnel in remote regions to prevent such distressing situations in the future.
