The Yogi Adityanath government is in a mission mode, preparing for the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj with a commitment to make it a swachh Maha Kumbh. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is leaving no stone unturned to make this grand event of Sanatan Dharma, held once every 12 years, both divine and magnificent. During the Maha Kumbh, lakhs of devotees will gather at the Sangam banks in Prayagraj for a holy dip. In addition to ensuring the safety and health of the devotees, the Yogi government is placing special emphasis on cleanliness throughout the event. To achieve this, the state government plans to deploy over 10,000 employees dedicated to maintaining sanitation. Around 1,50,000 temporary community and camp toilets and urinals will be installed across the Kumbh Mela area, with over 300 suction trucks and jet spray cleaning systems in use. Cleanliness will be monitored through QR codes for service level checks. To keep the Kumbh city clean, 120 tipper-hoppers and 40 compactor trucks will be used, all monitored via GPS. Additionally, more than 25,000 liner bag-equipped dustbins will be placed throughout the Mela area, and they will be changed three times daily. For efficient sanitation management, 10,200 workers will be organised into 850 groups. The Yogi government will also construct a Swachhata Colony for these workers, with their daily wages directly transferred to their bank accounts.
