Bahujan Samaj Party national president Mayawati on Monday said that paper leaks in examinations held in Uttar Pradesh and other states and corruption in government recruitments was very serious, sad and worrisome. She said any kind of government negligence and politics towards these problems was not appropriate, rather strict steps were necessary to prevent it. Allegations of irregularities, including paper leaks, in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) have led to protests and litigation, with various quarters demanding a complete re-examination. The Union Health ministry later postponed NEET-PG, scheduled for June 23, as a precautionary measure amid the allegations. In a post on X, Mayawati stated that along with the sanctity of various examinations held from time to time in the country, uncertainty prevails at present, especially regarding medical NEET-UG and NEET-PG examinations. It is natural that there is a wave of restlessness, worry and anger among the people, for which it is very important to find a quick and correct permanent solution. Further, she said that the paper leak in examinations held not only at all-India level but also in states, including UP, and corruption in government recruitments was also very serious and worrisome. Neither any kind of government negligence nor politics is right towards these problems, rather strict steps are necessary to prevent them, she said. Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati has congratulated Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and MP Akhilesh Yadav on his birthday. Wishing him a long life, she wished him all the best and also congratulated his family on this occasion.
