On the last day of campaigning for the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Thursday, Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath paid his respects and sought blessings at the statue of his guru, Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath in the Gorakhnath temple complex before leaving for Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. As usual, he also spent some time in cow service, as well as blessed and gave chocolates to children of several devotees who visited the temple. For the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Yogi has been staying overnight at the Gorakhnath temple for the past few days. Despite being busy with about half a dozen election programmes in a day, his daily routine remained unchanged even on Thursday. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi addressed four election meetings in the Gorakhpur division and led a three-hour roadshow in the evening. After staying overnight, he first visited and worshipped Guru Gorakhnath on Thursday morning. Then, he paid his respects at the Samadhi Sthal of his guru, the late Mahant Avaidyanath. While touring the temple premises, Chief Minister Yogi went to the cowshed and fed jaggery and roti to the cows. The chief minister showed affection to the children who came with their families to the temple, giving them chocolates as gifts and blessing them. During this time, he also blessed a two-month-old baby girl from a family that had come from Kolkata.
