Two Chinese nationals, drunk & naked, ram their SUV into a car in Meerut, held

MEERUT: An SUV ramming into another car on the busy Garh road in Meerut is normal. Rajiv Rastogi, whose car was hit and he was injured too, was determined to bring the culprits to book. Or so he thought until he approached the SUV.When the windows of the Toyota Fortuner with a Delhi registration number were rolled down, two heavily drunk and completely naked Chinese nationals were found inside. Dazed and sloshed, one of them grinned listlessly.By now, Rastogi had forgotten his pain and he was nervously looking for a cop in the neighbourhood. The tretch sees heavy traffic and is prone to accidents.

Rajiv Rastogi, whose car was hit and he was injured too, was determined to bring the culprits to book. Or so he thought until he approached the SUV.When the windows of the Toyota Fortuner with a Delhi registration number were rolled down, two heavily drunk and completely naked Chinese nationals were found inside. Dazed and sloshed, one of them grinned listlessly.By now, Rastogi had forgotten his pain and he was nervously looking for a cop in the neighbourhood. As puzzled onlookers grew in number, bringing traffic on the stretch to a halt, cops, too, arrived in a short while.The two Chinese, identified as Guoqing Xia (45) and Wenxin Zu (51) from Hunan province, were given clothes and brought to police station.According to the sources, the two are quality control experts for a Chinese firm and frequent a local factory which exports meat products to China. They live in a rented house in Mangal Pandey Nagar in the city. On Sunday, the two had left from a party in E Block area and were heavily drunk when the accident occurred.When asked why they were not clad, Xia told TOI that he had downed "a few bottles of an Indian beer which he could not handle".Based on Rastogi’s complaint, police on Monday registered a case against Xia under sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life) 338 (causing grievous hurt) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act at Nauchandi police station.According to local intelligence unit, Xia was issued a business visa in April this year while Zu was issued the same in July and their visas were set to expire in the last week of September.Superintendent of police (city) Ranvijay Singh said, "We are looking into all possible reasons for their eccentric behaviour. Our investigation is on."
