PIB, Rs 175 crore a boost for Kanpur Metro

Kanpur: The Kanpur Metro project will get a boost with the sanction of Project Investment Board (PIB) and allocation of Rs 175 crore by the state government in UP Budget 2019-2020 on Thursday.PIB was given green signal on Wednesday in New Delhi and after that the state Budget provided an initial sum of Rs 175 crore for the project.After the green signal from PIB, the project would be presented before the cabinet for final approval.The 30-km-long project will have 31 stations and cost over Rs 17,000 crore.The foundation stone is likely to be laid by month-end when Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit the city.
