Despite taking various measures to ensure on spot disposal of wet waste, the civic body officials are finding it difficult to process. They have achieved 100 per cent segregation of garbage at door-to-door level, but they are not able to handle huge amount of wet waste which is generated in city on a daily basis.Wet or organic waste usually takes 10-15 days to decompose, while the amount of wet garbage which is begin generated in the city is comparatively very high. This has forced civic body to look for ideas in which waste processing could be done at the local level.
