The YSRCP chief has received 40.84 per cent approval votes while Chandrababu Naidu has received 40.22 per cent and Pawan Kalyan 16 per cent. AMARAVATI: The Telugu Samayam opinion survey has found that the political situation in Andhra Pradesh is like touch-and-go for both the ruling Telugu Desam Party ( TDP ) and opposition YSR Congress Party ( YSRCP ). But it also looks like the massive welfare dose injected by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the last minute is paying dividends. The huge anti-establishment sentiment that was reported in the month of June, 2018 has reduced dramatically. On being asked about the performance of the TDP government, 27.2 percent respondents said it's ‘Very Good’, 12.30 per cent said ‘Good’ while 13.23 per cent said it was ‘Okay’. On the whole 52.7 per cent respondents supported the TDP government. At the same time, as many as 47.3 per cent respondents made it clear that TDP government has not performed well.On the question of who their choice for the AP chief minister post will be, the voters hinted at a very close fight between Naidu and YS Jaganmohan Reddy . The YSRCP chief has received 40.84 per cent approval votes while Chandrababu Naidu has received 40.22 per cent and Pawan Kalyan 16 per cent. In the event of a hung assembly, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party is likely to play a role in the formation of the government. When asked what's the major failure of the TDP government, people overwhelmingly said that it has failed in getting special status to AP. As many as 54.2 per cent people said the ruling TDP has dashed their hopes. Indicating people's dissatisfaction with the ruling TDP government - on being asked about major achievement of the present government - as many as 43 per cent respondents said there's no major achievement of the TDP government. On the question of whether CM Chandrababu Naidu has succeeded in bringing development to the state, 49.6 per cent said 'no'.On the welfare schemes, including ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’, ‘Pasupu Kumkuma’ and hike in pensions, unemployment dole, people responded positively. As many as 44.4 per cent said the schemes will benefit TDP in the coming elections. With regard to TDP alliance with Congress, majority people said it will harm the interests of the ruling party. Nearly 66.8 per cent of respondents said it will not augur well to TDP’s prospects.Another surprising outcome of the opinion survey was that voters have accepted the ‘friendship’ between the YSRCP and TRS. While 40.5 per cent said the friendship will harm YSRCP, 41.9 per cent people said it will not affect the poll prospects of the Jaganmohan's party. One more interesting fact that came out from the survey is that even though people have supported the TDP on severing its alliance with BJP and coming out of NDA government, not many are convinced with the ‘inconsistent’ stand taken up by Chandrababu Naidu on special status demand. While 46.7 per cent people supported TDP coming out of NDA government, 55.1 per cent said they would not support the ‘stand’ taken by Chandrababu Naidu.(Telugu Samayam website which is part of The Times of India group is in the forefront in providing up-to-date information to millions of readers across the globe everyday. As part of its political coverage, the country’s most followed Telugu portal has conducted a massive opinion poll survey to find out present political situation in Andhra Pradesh which is going to polls for both Assembly and Lok Sabha. Telugu Samayam has conducted this survey from March 2 to 8 on its website and people responded overwhelmingly by submitting their opinion. The survey was prepared in such a way that only one opinion could be submitted by one person. This has effectively controlled the chances to rig the voting process.)
