24 injured as private bus rams into government bus in Erode

At least 24 passengers, including eight women, were injured after a private bus rammed a government bus at Naiyakkankadu here on Tuesday.The private bus was heading to Erode from Sathyamangalam . When the bus neared Naickenkadu on Erode-Sathyamangalam state highway, the bus hit the government bus which was parked at the Naickenkadu bus stop.

When the bus neared Naickenkadu on Erode-Sathyamangalam state highway, the bus hit the government bus which was parked at the Naickenkadu bus stop."The private bus driver, whose identity was yet to be ascertained, noticed the stationed bus only at the last minute but by then he had lost control over the vehicle," the Gobichettipalayam Police said.All the injured were rushed to the government hospital in Gobichettipalayam. "Three victims, including the government bus driver P Tamilarasu, 39, have sustained bone fractures and the remaining victims were treated at the hospital as outpatients.The Gobichettipalayam police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
