BJP holds massive protest outside Kejriwals residence

  • | Friday | 22nd November, 2024

The Delhi BJP held a massive protest infront of the residence of former Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal against the misuse of public funds in the construction of his earlier residence and using lavish equipment including gold plated toilet accessories in it. The party demanded a high level investigation. Meanwhile, police said they have detained some BJP leaders including Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva who took part in the protest and taken them to the Parliament Street police station, where they were later released after being warned. "No one is allowed to breach law and order situations," a senior police officer said. Scores of party workers and supporters raised slogans and questioned, Kejriwal, give answers—how did you get so much money, and how did you decorate the Sheesh Mahal bungalow? Sachdeva stated, From day one, we have been saying that this Sheesh Mahal bungalow is the result of embezzlement of crores of rupees from the publics hard-earned money and is a symbol of corruption. We have never heard of something as extravagant as a golden toilet seat before. He added, When Arvind Kejriwal was allotted the house by the PWD, the inventory was recorded on a single page. However, today, eight pages are insufficient to document the items in this house. The golden toilet seat, golden washbasin, silver dinner set, carpets worth Rs 50 lakh, curtains worth Rs 8 lakh, expensive stones, and even Bose speakers in all rooms and bathrooms were all installed by Kejriwal himself. He questioned the source of this luxurious equipment. The people of Delhi are asking if the money for this bungalow came from the liquor scam, the water board scam, or from terrorist organizations accused of funding the AAP, the Delhi BJP Chief questioned, adding that in the coming days, the citizens of Delhi will hold him accountable. Sachdeva declared, Arvind Kejriwal, with a mindset akin to royalty, can no longer claim to represent the common man with his tales of Rs 100 slippers and Rs 2 pens. His story will now be defined by the documents that expose his corruption. South Delhi BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged that Kejriwal built his lavish mansion without even getting the required approvals for its blueprint and illegally cut down dozens of trees. If someone in Delhi builds even a small house, they immediately receive notices and face demolition, but no rules were followed for Kejriwals mansion, he said. Former Delhi Minister Kailash Gahlot, who recently joined BJP, remarked that he had been with the AAP for the past ten years. He worked selflessly without any personal interest or greed, but the party is no longer the same AAP for which they all left their jobs to join a peoples movement. The current issue of protest was something he had mentioned in his resignation letter when he left the AAP. A person embroiled in such controversies over luxurious items in his residence should demonstrate moral responsibility and step down from his position, he said, adding that the issue of the protest was something he mentioned in his letter when he decided to leave the AAP. If there is such a controversy over luxury items in someones bungalow, they should show some morality and resign from their position, he said.
