AAP and BJP spar over Rohini blast

The AAP and BJP on Sunday sparred over a blast near a CRPF school in Delhis Rohini area where the former said that it has exposed the "crumbling" law and order in the city and shows that the BJP-led central government is unable to fulfil its responsibility of keeping the Delhiites safe while the latter claimed that the ruling party politicizes even security issues. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena also took to Twitter and shared, A multi-agency probe is on in the blasts that took place in Delhi today. I am keeping a constant watch on the progress of investigation and assure that the guilty will be brought to book. Meanwhile, I appeal to all to maintain restrain and not indulge in fear mongering. Chief Minister Atishi, in a post on X in Hindi, said, The BJP spends most of its time obstructing the work of the elected government in Delhi instead. She stated that the recent bomb blast reveals the crumbling state of Delhis security and emphasised that while the Central Government is tasked with maintaining law and order in the capital, it is more focused on disrupting the work of the elected Delhi government. "Today, Delhi is witnessing conditions reminiscent of the 1990s Mumbai underworld era. The city is seeing broad daylight shootings, gangsters extorting people, and a noticeable rise in criminal morale," she added. Stating that the BJP neither has the intent nor the competence to govern Delhi, the senior AAP leader said, If Delhiites ever made the mistake of entrusting them with governance, they would bring the state of schools, hospitals, electricity, and water services down to the same level as the current law and order situation." "Due to this, the situation in Delhi today is like that of Mumbai during the underworld era of the 1990s. Shots are fired openly, gangsters are extorting money and criminals are emboldened," she charged. Addressing a press conference, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said the BJP is unable to maintain law and order in Delhi. "The people have given the BJP the responsibility of maintaining law and order and keeping them safe but the party is failing to fulfil its only responsibility," he said. Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who was also present at the press conference, targeted Saxena over the incident. "Where are you LG sahab? Whenever a road is blocked due to construction or waterlogging, you go there with your camerapersons but today there was a bomb blast in the city and you are missing," he said. Attacking the AAP, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and MLA from Rohini Vijender Gupta condemned the statement made by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and said, "I strongly denounce Atishis statement. The AAPs tendency to politicize even security issues exposes their low mentality." It is shameful that AAP leaders, who sit comfortably in air-conditioned rooms, did not bother to visit the blast site. Neither the Chief Minister, her ministers, nor any leaders of the party took the effort to reach the location, he stated. Gupta accused the AAP of politicizing security matters and suggested that before pointing fingers, the party should reflect on its own failures and focus on addressing Delhis pressing issues. Moreover, Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav said that the Delhi governments and at the Centre, and the law enforcing agencies have totally failed in ensuring the safety and security of the  people, as bomb blasts, murders, extortions and robberies have become everyday occurrence. It was the misfortune of the people that  no one seems to be in control of law and order in the Capital, he said.
