Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Thursday instructed officials to arrange better chairs, tables and water dispensers in the doctors room built in the hospital for resident doctors. During the meeting with resident doctors of Maulana Azad Medical College, who are undergoing training at Lok Nayak Jaiprakash (LNJP) hospital, Bharadwaj inspected the classrooms in the hospital where written training is given to the doctors. He told the hospital administration officials present on the spot that better chairs and tables should be arranged for the doctors and all the necessary equipment for written training and practical training should be made available to all the resident doctors as soon as possible. So that all of them can get the best possible training and our country and Delhi can get better doctors who can treat the public in the best possible way, he said. Talking to the senior AAP leader, resident doctors raised the issue of CCTV cameras missing from some places while some cameras are lying defunct, which need to be repaired. The Delhi Minister directed the hospital administration to identify such places where cameras not installed, and do it immediately. The defunct CCTVs should also be repaired as soon as possible so that the security of doctors and other people can be ensured in the entire hospital, he stated. In a recent interaction with doctors, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj reviewed the various facilities provided by the Delhi government in the hospital and discussed issues of potential harassment or other challenges, particularly with female doctors. Any doctor facing challenges or harassment from the hospital administration can directly approach him and share their grievances. The resident doctors appreciated the Ministers considerate approach and expressed their gratitude for his concern for their well-being, he said. Along with theoretical training, practical training is also provided in the hospital. There are dedicated classrooms for theoretical training in the hospital, and senior doctors thoroughly explain while treating patients, ensuring complete training, a senior AAP leader said. He added that our doctors are continuously engaged in serving the patients for many hours. In such a situation, fatigue is a normal thing. In this situation, it is very important for the doctors to have better arrangements for cold water and sitting to remove fatigue in between, so that our doctors can treat the patients coming to the hospital with new energy. He told the hospital administration to make these arrangements, Bharadwaj said. During the meeting, some resident doctors also raised concerns with the Minister regarding the quality of food provided in the hostel, mentioning that it was not satisfactory. Additionally, some male doctors also complained about the poor condition of the hostel toilets. The Minister immediately directed the hospital administration officials present on-site to address these issues promptly. He instructed that the cleaning of the toilets should be improved immediately and that better quality food should be provided in the hostel, a senior AAP leader. Bharadwaj also warned that if swift action is not taken, strict measures will be taken against the hostel.
