Kejriwal has asked Atishi to hoist flag on I-Day: Rai

Delhi environment minister Gopal Rai said on Monday said that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked education minister Atishi to hoist the national flag on Independence Day. Delhis Minister of General Administration Department (GAD), Gopal Rai, has written to the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of GAD, conveying Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwals desire for Minister Atishi to hoist the national flag at the Chhatrasal Stadium on August 15, 2024 in his stead. Rai issued the directions following a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar Jail. In his letter, Rai stated, "I had a meeting with Chief Minister today. He desires that Minister Atishi should hoist the flag on 15th August 2024, at the Chhatrasal Stadium event, in his place… All the necessary arrangements be made accordingly" Every year, the Delhi governments Independence Day function takes place at Chhatrasal Stadium where chief minister Kejriwal addresses the gathering. Earlier, on August 7, AAP announced that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has also written to the Delhi LG that Atishi would hoist the national flag in his place.
