ABVP delegation meets chairperson of panel on NTA reforms with suggestions

A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)on Thursday presented a detailed letter of suggestions to Dr. K Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the high-level committee constituted for reforming the National Testing Agency (NTA). The delegation highlighted the need for enhancements in the functioning of NTA and its examinations like JEE, NEET, UGC-NET etc. In its suggestion letter, ABVP suggested administrative reforms within NTA, measures to ensure examination transparency, development of advanced infrastructure for conducting examinations, adequate staffing of permanent employees at NTA, establishment of government institutions as exam centers, and adoption of a two-phase NEET-UG examination format akin to JEE. Additional recommendations included the uploading of OMR sheets on the NTA website. The ABVP also addressed concerns regarding internet security for computer-based exams (CBT), adoption of AI-based proctoring algorithms, quality translation, strict implementation of anti-leak measures, accuracy in answer key releases, timely grievance resolution, and the formation of subject expert teams to curate exam question banks. The ABVP emphasized the urgent need of restoring student confidence in NTA exams by immediately addressing these issues. National General Secretary of ABVP Yagywalkya Shukla said  "Over the past two weeks, ABVP has consulted students from diverse disciplines such as humanities, medical sciences, engineering, and others, and compiled 42 suggestions for reforming the National Testing Agency (NTA). These suggestions have now been submitted to the High-Level Committee overseeing NTA reforms. It is crucial to promptly resolve the issues plaguing NTA to restore trust in its examination processes. We hope that the committee will take decisive action based on ABVPs recommendations."
