A delegation of Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha visited the residence of AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Thursday who was allegedly assaulted in Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal residence by his aide Bibhav Kumar to show their support to Maliwal, irrespective of political ideology. Led by Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Richa Pandey Mishra, the delegation handed over a letter addressed to the former Chairperson of Delhi Commission to her staffer, who came out to meet the BJP delegation and accepted a letter of support from the party on behalf of Maliwal. After handing over the letter of support, Mishra said,We are not here for political motives but to support a fierce female leader who herself has become a victim of indecency and violence while raising her voice for womens rights. The letter read, We are extremely worried and concerned with the incident. We might be different in our political ideologies but as women, we all are with you. When something like this can happen at the Chief Ministers residence, we get worried thinking of the security of an ordinary womans condition. Misbehaviour with a female parliamentarian is not just injustice with you, it is disrespectful to all women in the country. A copy of the letter was also sent to Maliwal directly through WhatsApp. Further, it stated, BJP women morcha is with you and we are worried about your mental and physical well being in such a time. This is not just a personal matter but it is a matter of every womans respect in this country. The morcha also requested her to give all the details to the police so that the perpetrators of the crime face an investigation. To make sure this doesnt happen again, legal procedure in the matter is necessary, Mishra said.
