NOIDA: From Wednesday, commuters travelling from Delhi to Noida will be able to use only four of the five lanes at the DND toll booth due to police checking at borders ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. While the DND has eight lanes each for both incoming and outgoing traffic, three of the Delhi-Noida lanes are being used in a U-turn for commuters travelling to Greater Noida via the DND loop.Commuters travelling from Noida to Delhi can continue to use all the eight lanes available to them.In order to avoid vehicles lining up at the toll plaza, the traffic police have changed the positions of the two U-turns for people coming from either side.According to the traffic police, commuters travelling from Delhi in cars will be able to use three lanes, while a lane on the extreme left will be reserved for two-wheelers.The decision to make these changes was taken after a trial run by the traffic police on Monday.People travelling from Delhi and looking to return to the capital can take a U-turn about 50 metres before the toll plaza.Earlier, there was a U-turn closer to the toll booth but it has been pulled back towards the Delhi side in anticipation of the rush due to the vehicle-checking process.
