CHENNAI/POLLACHI: The Chennai city police have registered a case against DMK leader MK Stalin’s son-in-law V Sabarish and Nakheeran editor Gopal under the Information Technology Act based on a complaint by Pollachi V Jayaraman, deputy speaker of the assembly, and state minister S P Velumani for spreading false information linking their names to the Pollachi sexual harassment case.The investigation officers have summoned Sabarish and Gopal to appear before them for questioning.Sabarish’s counsel R Neelankandan had issued a legal notice to Pollachi V Jayaraman for taking Sabarish’s name in his complaint.Stalin in a Facebook post accused the AIADMK government of preventing victims in the sexual harassment case from filing complaints against the accused. Slamming the AIADMK government for forcibly removing the students who protested demanding justice for the victims, Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan questioned chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for not showing the same intensity to act against the culprits in the case.Meanwhile, video clips on the links between the arrested suspects and ousted AIADMK worker ‘Bar’ Nagarajan, a native of Pollachi, are again doing rounds on social media.Four suspects have so far been arrested and detained under the goondas act.
