Punjab role model for country by providing govt job to youth in every village: Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday together handed over appointment letters to 1,205 newly-recruited constables, out of total 1,746, in the Punjab Police. The event, held in Chandigarh, also served as a tribute to the martyrdom of Kartar Singh Sarabha — a symbol of sacrifice and patriotism. Both leaders spoke to the recruits, urging them to serve with integrity and discipline to uphold the esteemed reputation of Punjab Police.   Kejriwal emphasized the significant strides Punjab has made in employment, law enforcement, and governance since AAP assumed office. He lauded the Punjab Governments efforts in providing over 48,000 government jobs to youth across the state in just two and a half years — a process marked by fairness, transparency, and meritocracy.   He pointed out that this has ensured that nearly every village in Punjab now has a government servant, underscoring the importance of such a transformation for the states socio-economic development. Kejriwal affirmed that the pace of job creation would continue, reflecting the AAPs commitment to empowering the youth.   He further emphasized the importance of law and order, commending the Punjab Police as one of the countrys most disciplined and celebrated forces. Reflecting on the states past challenges with lawlessness and gangster activities, Kejriwal highlighted how things have drastically improved under AAPs leadership.   When we took over, we had a big challenge before us. We accepted that challenge and we got support from the people of Punjab…Earlier, there used to be extortion calls, incidents of thefts, robberies used to take place. I am not saying that Ram Rajya has come and everything is alright. Still a lot needs to be done. But the good thing is that the winds direction has changed and things have started improving, he said.   Acknowledging that more work remains, he stressed that Punjab was now a model for law and order, setting an example for the nation. Kejriwal also announced plans to recruit 10,000 more police personnel and ensure that the best technology and resources are provided to enhance public safety.   Additionally, Kejriwal reflected on Punjabs growing appeal to investors, with the state attracting over Rs 60,000 crore in investments, which is set to create three lakh jobs. He attributed this economic revival to the restored law and order, and vowed to continue working towards making Punjab a role model for other states.   Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, in his address, paid homage to martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha, calling on the newly-recruited constables to dedicate themselves to his ideals of sacrifice and patriotism. He encouraged the youth to remember the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and to work tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of the nation.   Mann commended the efforts of Kejriwal in transforming key sectors such as education, health, power, and infrastructure, and emphasized that these would continue to be the top priorities of the Punjab Government. He praised the AAPs approach to politics, which, in contrast to other parties, focuses on unity, progress, and welfare of the common people.   While other political parties have always pursued the agenda of hatred and divisiveness, Kejriwal has given new direction to politics by his vision…This vision has been duly incorporated by the State Government to ensure the well-being of the common man and the states progress, he said.   The Chief Minister highlighted that over 48,000 youth had secured government jobs through a fair and transparent process, solidifying the state governments commitment to merit-based recruitment. He further expressed his confidence that these young recruits would play an integral role in advancing the states goals, ensuring the welfare of all citizens.   In line with his vision for a more efficient police force, Mann announced plans to create 10,000 new positions within the Punjab Police. This expansion aimed not only to enhance public safety but also to create additional job opportunities for the youth. He also lauded the success of the Sadak Surkhya Force, which has helped reduce road accident fatalities by approximately 45 percent, underlining his governments commitment to improving law enforcement and public welfare.
