Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu lit up the Diwali season for young girls at the Balika Ashram in Kalpa, Kinnaur district, with a heartfelt visit and generous gifts. Emphasizing the states commitment to orphaned children, he announced a Diwali gift of Rs 25,000 for each inmate, along with presenting them with track suits as a gesture of support and care.   Sukhu, in his address to the girls, reaffirmed the Governments dedication to the well-being of orphaned children, whom he termed Children of the State. The Chief Minister highlighted that these childrens needs, including education and essential expenses, are now fully under the care of the state. Himachal Pradesh is pioneering as the first state to enact specific legislation dedicated to securing the welfare and rights of orphaned children. Our commitment is to ensure that these children have access to education, healthcare, and every support they need to shape a successful future, he said.   The Chief Minister engaged warmly with the girls, encouraging them to focus on their education and promising full government support to help them achieve their dreams. He inspired them to remain ambitious, assuring that their welfare and aspirations are central to the states objectives. You are the children of Himachal Pradesh, and we are here to guide and support you every step of the way, he remarked, garnering heartfelt smiles from his audience.   As part of his proactive approach, Sukhu directed Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Sharma to conduct regular surprise inspections of the Ashram, ensuring that the living conditions, facilities, and services at the institution meet high standards and that any issues are swiftly addressed. This measure, he explained, was part of the governments broader efforts to continuously improve the welfare infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.   The girls at the Ashram expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister by performing a cultural program in his honour, filling the atmosphere with vibrant displays of Kinnaurs traditional music and dance. Their performance highlighted the spirit of resilience and unity that the Chief Ministers visit sought to uplift, making the occasion a memorable one for all present.   To conclude his day in Kalpa, Sukhu paid a visit to the Bodh Temple, where he offered prayers, further deepening his connection to the local community and its cultural heritage.
