New complex of Hamirpur Medical college to be completed by March 2026: Himachal CM

/ Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited a medical college in Hamirpur on Saturday and said that modern machines would soon be installed on the campus. He said that the state government is working towards filling up the posts of doctors and steps would be taken to overcome the shortage of paramedical staff in Dr. Radha Krishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur.   The Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of the medical college and issued necessary directives to the administration. He said that the target is to complete the construction of the medical college by March 31, 2026. He said, "Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and other teachers had been posted in Hamirpur Medical College and efforts were being made to increase the seats in PG courses." Sukhu said, "Walk-in interviews would be conducted to fill up the vacant posts." He further added that modern machines equipped with world-class technology were being installed in the new campus of this medical college being built at a cost of more than Rs 400 crore in Jol Sappad near Hamirpur town and a facility of 292 beds would be available there for the patients. The Cabinet had approved deployment of 150 staff nurses and additional nurses and paramedical staff would be deployed as per the requirement in the campus, he said. The doctors and nurses would be made available in Hamirpur Medical College as per international standards so that patients get good treatment and doctors and other staff get a better working environment.  In the second phase of the medical college construction, a 300-bedded medical block, state cancer hospital, super speciality and nursing college and other facilities for students and patients will be constructed, Sukhu said. He stated that this medical college was sanctioned by the UPA-2 government on March 4, 2014, after his personal request to the then Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad. While the Union government has allocated only Rs. 180 crore for this project, the current state government has already disbursed Rs. 240 crore. He added that the new campus would significantly enhance healthcare services by providing world-class facilities, state-of-the-art medical equipment and skilled doctors and paramedical staff, ensuring advanced healthcare for the people of the state. RESULTS OF 6 POST CODES IN HIMACHAL TO BE ANNOUNCED BEFORE DIWALI: SUKHU  Chief Minister Sukhu has directed the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Ayog to announce the results for six pending post codes before Diwali. These include 295 posts for Post Code 939 (JOA IT), 82 posts for Post Code 903 (JOA IT), Copy Holder Post Code 982, Workshop Instructor Post Code 992, Psychologist Post Code 994, and Workshop Instructor Post Code 997.   In a meeting the Ayog officials, the CM emphasised the state governments commitment to providing transparent and merit-based employment opportunities to the youth in the government sector.  "The announcement of results for these six pending post codes will be a Diwali gift from the state government to the youth of Himachal Pradesh seeking government jobs," he said. Sukhu also said that the Cabinet Sub-Committee has permitted the declaration of results for 21 pending post codes, with results for Post Codes 817, 999 and 969 already announced. He directed officials to expedite the announcement process, stating that results for the six examinations would be declared before Diwali, while the results for the remaining 12 post codes are set for November. He said that the government has been consistently working for the welfare of its employees since day one. "In its very first cabinet meeting, the government reinstated the Old Pension Scheme, benefiting 1.36 lakh government employees. Recently, the government has increased the dearness allowance by four percent, and all employees salaries and pensions will be disbursed by October 28, ahead of Diwali," he added.
